LCF CSR Guild Awards Recognizes Ayala Foundation | At the LCF CSR Guild Awards, the Ayala Foundation was awarded for its arts and culture and disaster resilience projects. | The Ayala Foundation, the company’s social development arm, was honored in two main categories at the League of Corporate Foundations’ CSR Guild Awards on July 9.
The disaster relief project #BuyAni won the Disaster Resilience category, while the Art and Culture category went to Ayala Museum Virtual, which uses the internet space to provide new ways to experience Filipino culture.
Project #BuyAni was launched at the height of COVID-19 quarantine restrictions when many families had limited access to nutritious food and local farmers’ and artisans’ access was severely curtailed. Recognizing this, the Ayala Foundation saw an opportunity to make farmer-produced food an important element of its relief efforts. Project #BuyAni was able to give food aid for at least 10,000 people in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while also providing local agricultural workers access to markets, highlighting the importance of farmers and food producers as community heroes. The Macquarie Group Foundation has given a donation to Project #BuyAni.
Meanwhile, the Ayala Foundation created Ayala Museum Virtual as a way to transmit the experience of Filipino art and culture to people wherever they are, regardless of travel restrictions. The Ayala Museum and the Filipinas Heritage Library have been at the forefront of using technology to create new ways to explore and enjoy the Philippines’ rich culture and history for many years. Ayala Museum Virtual recreates a seamless digital version of its resources—from exhibitions to concerts to lectures, as well as access to educational materials—using diverse digital holdings.
The Ayala Museum Virtual is a key component of the museum’s “omnichannel” approach, as it provides audiences with new ways to engage with Filipino art and culture, whether on-site, off-site, or online. As Ayala Foundation celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2021, the Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library are also preparing to reopen their doors later this year.
The LCF CSR Guild Awards are “a stamp of distinction in corporate citizenship granted to the most reputable and premier firms executing social good programs with substantial and sustainable impact on the communities and institutions they serve,” according to the LCF. Furthermore, the awards recognize “outstanding CSR projects and cooperation within a specific year, as collectively selected by LCF’s 96 member organizations.”
The LCF is a network of the Philippines’ top functioning and grant-making corporate foundations and corporations. LCF, which was founded in 1991, actively promotes corporate social responsibility among its members and the business sector.
The CSR Guild Awards this year were part of the LCF’s 25th-anniversary celebrations. This year’s events included a variety of lectures and discussion panels in addition to recognizing excellent practices in the field of CSR. LCF also honored its long-serving members with awards. The Ayala Foundation, one of the LCF’s seven original members, received a 25-year honor.
