Agritechph.com | CWS Party List Continues Its Mission to Support Construction Worker | MANILA | The Construction Workers Party List or CWS Party List reiterated its full support for its sectoral constituents – the construction workers. In a recent interview of CWS Party List’s spokesperson and legal counsel, Attorney DJ Jimenez by EuroTV, he said that they are pushing hard for the next congress the Magna Carta for Construction Workers.

During EuroTV’s Election Coverage, Bilang Pilipinas, Henry Nicolas and Alvin Pelobello interviewed Atty. Jimenez and centered on the value that CWS brings to its sector.
CWS Party-list was founded as a labor union almost 30 years ago to protect the rights and interests of Filipino construction workers. According to Jimenez, incumbent CWS Representative Romeo Momo prioritized the filing of legislation that protects the rights of construction workers.
Atty. Jimenez said that besides helping the construction sector, Construction Workers Solidarity Party List aims to provide various types of assistance for the poor who normally are also families of construction workers.
While representing construction workers, CWS Party-list also includes workers from various affiliates such those in the mining and real estate sectors. CWS also attempts to put policies in place that benefit the general public as well as individuals in the construction industry.
As a result of its years of dedicated service to construction workers and their families for almost 30 years, the Construction Workers Solidarity became a party-list. Today, there are a number of programs implemented throughout the Philippines for qualified construction workers and their families that CWS has mapped out.
During the statewide lockdown, CWS provided food and medicine to individuals who were stranded, ensuring that no one went hungry. In addition, they help stranded passengers go back to their home regions, where they can be reunited with their loved ones in safety.
CWS believes that workers who are not a threat to public health should be permitted to continue working and given sufficient time to get the vaccinations they need, even if there is a “No Vaccine, No Work Policy” is in place.
Additionally, CWS has successfully implemented the following programs for the benefit of the construction workers and their families, such asl: Health Care Assistance (2020-2021) — Free facemasks, PPEs, Rapid Anti-gen test kits, and other medical supplies with medical transportation. Grants for Scholarships (2020-2021) — Scholarships for four years of college, TESDA training sponsorship and DOLE-TUPAD – Tulong Panghanap Buhay sa Ating Disadvantaged are both available to those who qualify.
In order to better the lives of construction workers and their families, the Construction Workers Solidarity Party List is dedicated to protecting their rights and defending their interests. CWS has been the construction workers’ torchbearer for the past 30 years, leading its devotees to a better position today and in the future. CWS Party-list is listed as number 103 in the ballot.
